Senior Life Curse: Loneliness

One of the dangers of getting old is the possibility of losing friends and family and isolating yourself in desperation to try to avoid pain. This can deprive you of some wonderful years of your life. Others find the endless search for a life partner to be depressing and debilitating. It seems that no matter what you do, you find yourself alone. And being alone for any length of time, no matter who you are, will eventually lead to loneliness. Loneliness can be crippling.

In this episode, I offer a few suggestions that might help you get started in breaking free from that solitude.

I See Dead People - Part 2 - How to Embalm a Body

In Part 2 of my 'I See Dead People' series, I thought it would be a good idea to tell you about what exactly happens when a body is embalmed.  As we age, we will encounter the need to make arrangements for funerals, as well as visit them as a friend or relative.  Should it fall on you to make the funeral arrangements, do you know what a loved one would really like for their final disposition? If you have no guidance by written wishes, you will need to make decisions that are difficult within a set amount of time to get all the arrangements in place. Embalm or Cremation? What does each really mean?

I hope that this explanation will allow you to make a more informed decision. This episode is very graphic and deals with procedures done to the body.

Let's Write A Novel - Part 1

Have you ever dreamed of writing the Great American (or wherever) Novel? Have you ever read a book and was disappointed and said 'Hey I could have written that better'?

Well, here is your chance. Most of us are still locked up in our homes and have done just about everything to occupy our time. This is the PERFECT time to try out your writing skills.

This episode (and Part 2 coming in a couple weeks) discusses my own method for writing my gay sports novel 'Northridge High Football Camp' and it's sequel 'The Guys of Northridge'. I can't say how other authors have produced their work, but the method that I used I think is a very learnable technique. So why not give it a try?

In this Part 1, I talk about the genre of your book, about establishing your main characters and creating milestone scenes to bring your characters toward the conclusion of your story.

Is Cheating The Price We Have To Pay To Have A Relationship?

So many gay men have to deal with their boyfriend/partner/husband cheating on them. Sometimes it takes years to find out, and by then you might have gotten legally married, bought a house together, co-mingled bank accounts and/or adopted children together. When your lives are so entwined, the discovery of one of you cheating can be devastating to the other. Is monogamy realistic? Can you re-build trust after being lied to? Is a cheater always a cheater?

In this episode I tell you a story from my own experience with a cheating boyfriend. I also read to you an email from a guy who is at wits end on what to do with his husband who may be cheating on him. I also asked a question of an online Gay Over 40 group, if they had been cheated on, were there tell-tale signs. I read you their responses.

This is always a difficult subject and is the continuation of an ongoing discussion about gay relationships.
